Summer 2012

Our routine for the past several summers has not varied a whole lot. The Rose spends the winter at Wharf Marina in the water. She is winterized, and snug in a slip with an agitator to make sure the water around the hull doesn't freeze. We are well into Warwick Cove so we are protected from the winter wind and waves.

Drew our mechanic watches over her for the winter and will move her back to her slip at Greenwich Bay North. The 2 marinas are only about 1/4 mile apart so it's an easy ride. We are usually back on board by mid-April and quickly settle into living aboard. Our summers are busy with family activities from softball to cookouts and everything in between. Our cruising includes exploring Narragansett Bay and side trips to Bristol and Block Island, especially mid-week when anchoring in New Harbor is easily available. Here are a few pictures of our summer activities.

Since our home slip is a Brewer Yard, we have reciprocal priviliges at other Brewer yards, a feature we take advantage of as time permits. What a way to spend the summer!
